Anatomy is thought in large group in lecture halls and small groups in dissection hall and demo rooms. Practicals are conducted for small group in histology lab as well. Interactive teaching methods like flipped classroom method, problem based learning, jigsaw method are often used for large and small group teaching. We have successfully integrated technology into our classrooms which give a better insight of the subject. Digital microscope, e content and video based early clinical exposure are few examples of this.
To make students attentive in a large group, we have instant quizzes using Kahoot, quizzlet or google form, polls everywhere and so on.
Feedback is also collected from students about the teaching methodology
Head of The Department
It gives me immense delight to write this message as HOD of the department of Pharmacology, Sree Balaji Medical College. This great institute has achieved widespread recognition and success. Our faculty by virtue of their medical knowledge, wisdom and experience explore their true maximum potential. We are rest assured of success with the abutment of this great organisation and enlightened professionals. Pharmacology is the science of drugs. The objective of Pharmacology is mainly to provide scientific data on proven efficacy and safety to suit the patient for treatment. Pharmacology has an important role in pharmaceutical industry where drug discovery and clinical trials are all based on pharmacological principles. Like other medical sciences, the boundaries of Pharmacology are extending, and it tends to have more disciplines. The new arrivals on the fringe are Pharmacogenomics, Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics.
