Department of Forensic Medicine

About the Department / Program

At Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital with the intention of providing undergraduate studies in Forensic Medicine Department and Toxicology to the students of III, IV, and V semester, the department of Forensic Medicine was established at Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital. In accordance with MCI, the department is well-equipped with sufficient room and infrastructure for holding lectures, demonstrations, seminars, and conducting exams.

Our Mission

The aim of teaching forensic medicine to undergraduate students is to impart knowledge of legal procedures involved in practice of medical profession and to apply the knowledge of medical science for the purpose of executing justice in courts of law.

Further the teaching will help the students to know about medical ethics and etiquette to be followed during the practice of medicine.

Our Vision

To develop a well-equipped department with all modern teaching facilities to train medical students & to render medico-legal services to the public at large.

To start and establish a postgraduate degree program in Forensic medicine & Toxicology

To develop a poison information control centre with state of the art analytical toxicology lab
