Department of Paediatrics

The Department of Paediatrics, SBMCH was established in 2003. Since then it has grown from a handful of doctors to a team of more than 20 full-time faculty members and 25 support staff with a mission and commitment to the care of children. The department runs MD Post graduate program with 12 MD postgraduates per year. The department functions 24X7 as 4 units. The Paediatric care facility includes the Paediatric OPD, Paediatric ward, Intensive Care Units (PICU & NICU) and an office complex.

Our Paediatric ICU is well-equipped to treat all critically ill children. Our NICU is equipped with latest ventilators and monitors and all sick newborns are attended to in our unit. Our subspecialty clinics include the following: Immunisation Clinic, Child Development & Guidance Clinic, Pediatric Neurology, Hemato-Oncology, High Risk Newborn, Paediatric Nephrology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Pulmonology clinic. Through our outreach program we extend our services to the community.
