General Hygiene Awareness Camp, In Vanchuvancheri on 17/10/2022 The objective is to create health awareness for general hygiene. The school students from 1st to 5th std belonging to Govt, Primary school, Vanchuvancheri, were visited for a health awareness camp. Health awareness regarding Personal hygiene was delivered by the Postgraduates. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), hygiene refers to “conditions and practices that help to maintain health and prevent spread of diseases”. Even in our contemporary society, good hygiene practices continue to be the primary disease- prevention strategy. As described earlier, hygiene is one of the silent victories of public health. A good hygiene must involve maintaining good oral health, hand washing habits after defecation and before and after meals, face washing, cutting finger nails and bathing. Menstrual hygiene takes supreme importance among personal hygiene habits of females. Maintaining hygiene is necessary for many reasons-personal, social, health and psychological and keeping good standard of hygiene helps to prevent the development and spread of infections, illnesses and bad odours.
