About Us

The Faculty of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology at Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital is affiliated with Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER). The faculty is fully compliant with statutory requirements, holding Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) approval, RPWD certification for clinical services and NOC from the State Government to offer the B.ASLP program.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS: 

Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (B.ASLP)

The Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (B.ASLP) is a four-year undergraduate program designed to provide a strong foundation in both academic knowledge and clinical practice. The curriculum integrates medical sciences with core professional subjects and emphasizes clinical competence, and interdisciplinary care.

  • Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters) Including one year of internship.
  • Credits: 160
  • Intake: 20 Seats

    Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology is a specialized healthcare profession dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of communication, hearing, and swallowing disorders across all age groups. Integrating knowledge from anatomy, physiology, linguistics, psychology, and rehabilitation sciences, the field plays a crucial role in enabling individuals to communicate effectively and improve their quality of life.

    Audiology focuses on hearing and balance disorders, including hearing loss, tinnitus, and vestibular dysfunction, using advanced diagnostic and rehabilitative technologies. Speech-Language Pathology addresses speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders arising from developmental, neurological, or acquired conditions, supporting individuals in achieving optimal communication and functional outcomes.

In addition, the presence of other rehabilitation and allied health programs promotes holistic patient management and team-based practice.

    The department actively engages in national and international collaborations involving academic exchange, research initiatives, and clinical training programs, thereby exposing students to global best practices and emerging trends in the profession. Equipped with modern infrastructure and experienced faculty, the program emphasizes hands-on clinical training, research orientation, and professional development. Since 2023, the department has also served as a clinical training centre for students from across South India, reflecting its commitment to excellence in education and clinical service.
